Canvas works with K–12 districts and schools—from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Outer Banks—to help prepare students for college and careers. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction chose Canvas as the statewide learning management system, meaning districts and charter schools can opt in to Canvas at a steeply discounted rate. This includes implementation, training, course migration, and 24/7 support. This will help North Carolina integrate with PowerSchool, NCEdCloud Identity and Access Management (NC IAM), and the NC Learning Object Repository (NCLOR).
If you’re one of the many Canvas users at schools and districts throughout the Tarheel State, you already use the Canvas LMS every day to facilitate 1:1 and flipped classroom initiatives, blended learning, and professional learning—in short, to make teaching and learning easier. Canvas brings all your teaching tools and content together in one place, making it easy to scale great instruction to every classroom—because every child deserves equitable access to high-quality instruction.
If you haven’t tried Canvas yet, it’s a great time to see firsthand how it provides all the awesome classroom technology you want without unwanted complexity.
Canvas is an open platform that integrates with all your edu apps and tools. It’s kinda like a hot dog “all the way”—go ahead and load it up with edtech toppings.
In April 2015, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) began providing negotiated Canvas pricing to all local education agency (LEA) and charter schools statewide. Schools and districts purchase Canvas for all users and NCDPI covers all costs associated with implementation, training, course migration, 24/7 support, and more.
