Two Education Establishments in the UK Select Canvas as New Virtual Learning Environment
Momentum builds for Canvas as it signs Bury College and Walton Girls’ High School and Sixth Form
London, 27 January, 2015 — Bury College, Bury, and Walton Girls’ High School and Sixth Form, Grantham, have both selected Canvas by Instructure as their virtual learning environment (VLE). The institutions have signed up to the software-as-a-service VLE in the past month after searching for a better learning experience than their existing legacy systems offered.
During the selection process, Bury College and Walton Girls’ High School and Sixth Form reviewed a number of VLE options available, and chose Canvas based on the platform’s ease of use and quick implementation process. Canvas is native to the cloud and its apps on iOS and Android differentiated the platform from competing solutions.
Explaining why the college selected Canvas, Andy Tomlinson, director of innovation at Bury College, commented:
